Madrid Fusion Manila 2017: Regional Lunches

So Madrid Fusion Manila is back!

The Department of Agriculture (DA), the principal agency of the Philippine government responsible for the promotion of agricultural development, will once again highlight the country’s local ingredients in this year’s 3-day Regional Lunches in Madrid Fusion Manila 2017 from April 6 to 8, 2017 at SMX Convention Center Pasay City.

The regional lunches will showcase different local dishes made from the finest produce from the country’s main islands – Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The DA will co-sponsor together with the Department of Tourism (DOT) the 3-day lunches by highlighting dishes prepared by the country’s up and coming chefs using local agri-products and ingredients.

The first day will highlight “Rice” as the main ingredient and will be curated by Angelo Comsti, the Editor-in-chief of F&B Magazine.

All the dishes in the DA Regional Lunches will be using ingredients produced by our local farmers and fisherfolk. With these efforts, the DA aims to raise the awareness of chefs, restaurateurs, and food enthusiasts that the Philippines can offer a variety of agricultural products and ingredients that is at par with international standards. This is in line with Secretary Emmanuel Pinol’s commitment to be the number one salesman of local produce to open new windows of opportunities to local farmers by showcasing agricultural products and linking them to the private sector for possible partnerships and collaborations.
