For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you probably know where I am now. Yes, I am away again… I am in the colorful and bustling city of Tokyo! I am here to celebrate “quietly” my turning a year older! But please let us not talk about age… or aging… or any related matter about growing “older”, ok? Let’s talk about only the good and happy stuff! Positive vibes please!
So as we end another incredibly busy month, allow me to share with you TSM’s FAVE THINGS for the month of NOVEMBER.
Here they are :
Le Matcha Cake by Rebecca Disini
I was never a fan of “matcha” or green tea-based cakes to begin with, but this made me a convert. I was totally smitten by this delicously beautiful cake called Le Matcha by Rebecca Disini. It is made of flourless chocolate genoise, matcha panna cotta and white chocolate mousse. This is one cake that I guarantee you will surely steal the show this holiday season!
You can order yours through oohlala@rebeccadisini.com or text 0998-557-0205.
The Assumption Legacy Cookbook
I am an Assumption girl through and through and I am proud of batch ’92 (older than me, lol) who cooked up this amazing cookbook for all women and mummies out there who love to play around in the kitchen and those who are always looking for new recipes to try! Not only are the instructions here in this Legacy Cookbook easy to follow, but in true Assumption spirit, all the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to charity! The beneficiary is the Assumption Mission Schools, a non-profit organization whose main mission is to educate kids from the underprivileged communities around the country. Yes, this is not just your ordinary cookbook that gives you recipes, this is a cookbook that gives back to the community!

Philippine Tatler Ball 2016
Last November 19, I attended Philippine Tatler’s 15th year anniversary. It was a beautiful and elegant ball held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel that was centered on a meaningful cause. The proceeds of the event went to the PGH Cancer Institute, a cause close to my heart as my own mother is a breast cancer survivor too… and for 30 years now. I am glad that even in our own little way, the sponsors and the attendees were able to help those afflicted by the Big C, especially those who have no means of getting any cure or treatment.
Congratulations to the whole Philippine Tatler Team led by Irene Martel Francisco, Anton San Diego and Mia Borromeo for raising more than their target (as of last count, it is now more than P10M). This whole amount will go to a lot more patients battling the advanced stages of breast cancer.
*Thank you too for this photo Philippine Tatler and for my “glam team” who changed the way I looked that night, and who made sure I didn’t look like my usual tired, sleepless self! 😉
Birthday Surprise
It has been a week-long of birthday surprises for me and this one that my girlfriends gave me last November 21st was the first one that started it all.
On a day I least expected it (a Monday!), these girls managed to pull off a surprise for me. They first treated me to a delicious and healthy lunch at the Aivee Cafe and then soon after, gave me pampering treatments : the Gold Facial and the Fotona Laser treatment. It was my first time to try both and I must say I really fell in love with it, as both were very relaxing and both were anti-aging! (Hooray, for those of us growing “older” but wiser ha ha!)
The facial removed my dead skin cells and the Fotona rejuvenated my tired skin — both without pain, without any down time at all, and at the luxurious comforts of the new The A Institute at the Fort BGC! Oh how I loved the way my skin felt and looked right after that! Thank you to my girlfriends, Dr. Aivee and Dr. Z Teo for spoiling me and all of us girls that one, fine and happy day!

Another birthday surprise soon followed! This time around it was during a press launch at the Canton Road of Shangri-La at the Fort. They surprised with me no less than my favorite strawberry chocolate cake! Special thanks too to Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong for my weekend stay in their hotel, which I can’t wait to use in my next visit to their city!
Indeed, I have made so many birthday wishes this whole week, but I am also thankful for so many things that have come my way! Thank you to each and every one of you for all the love and support you have given me all these years. Thank you for loving The Spoiled Mummy!
