How fast time flies indeed! A minute ago I was rejoicing when the “ghost month” of August ended and I was excitedly looking forward to the first -ber month of the year, September… and then suddenly with a blink of an eye, we are now at the end of this month! Tell me, where did it all go? How can everything fly by so quickly nowadays?!
So as part of my monthly “tradition” here on The Spoiled Mummy, I am again sharing with you some of my highlights and favorite things for the month of September!
Dinners at Home
Lately, I’ve been enjoying staying in at home during weekends more than going out. (Is this a sign of old age?!) I find that cooking and hosting dinners at home are actually more fun and enjoyable than braving through traffic just to eat in a restaurant. And if you noticed (on my Instagram), I have been hosting these casual dinners at home on Friday nights. Why? This is because people in general (myself included) are at their happiest on Fridays! 🙂 And why shouldn’t we? This is the last day of the work week and the weekend is coming! So yes, this is the best day to eat and be merry in the company of good friends!
Also, all these dinners recently have turned out to be more special than the ones before, since I have been able to put to good use the new products of Grace Home — and right here in my own home! In the past 2 months alone, I’ve launched 4 different product lines : Bohemian Glassware, Fine Porcelain Tea Sets, Ceramic Stoneware Plates and Table Linen. So yeah, you can say that these dinners have trained me some more on the art of table setting and entertaining at home!
So if you are already psyching yourself up for the upcoming holiday parties that you will host and attend, I suggest you visit my online shop now and get more hosting and gift-giving ideas! Just go to www.gracehomemanila.com and enjoy your shopping right in the convenience of your own homes!
#OOTD from Banana Republic
Recently, I was signed up to be a part of the campaign for the global fashion brand, Banana Republic brought to us here by retail giant Store Specialists Inc (SSI). I couldn’t be happier as I’ve known this brand since I was in high school! Also, I found out that they just got style icon (and my fashion icon too) Olivia Palermo as their newest global brand ambassador — how flattering is that for me?! 🙂
In my younger years, I still remember going to the US every summer holiday and hoarding Banana Republic’s basic tees, shorts and dresses to bring home. Since then, I have always loved their fit, comfort and classic styles, which never really go out of fashion. In fact, I still still wear a lot of their pieces from years ago today!
And here’s some good news : visit the Banana Republic Philippines Facebook Page and sign in with your email address to get a 20% voucher for your next shopping trip! Hurry, because this promo is only till October 31, 2016!
Banana Republic is located at : ShangriLa Plaza Mall, Greenbelt 5 or Bonifacio High Street. See you there!
A quick trip to the beach!
A couple of weeks ago, I was fortunate to have found time for a quick getaway to the beach. It’s been quite a busy and tiring month for me, so going to the beach was a welcome treat! Plus, it was a long weekend in Manila, so we took advantage of this time and packed our bags for Pamalican Island in Palawan and stayed in the beautiful resort of Amanpulo.
It was a quick 2-night stay, but I must say, being close to nature helped us a lot and gave us more than what we asked for. We came home relaxed and rejuvenated — and was more than ready to conquer the crazy busy world again!
This was not my first time in this beautiful island though, in fact I’ve written about this magical place on the blog before when we celebrated New Year’s Eve here! Click this link to read more about that amazing experience.

Learning floral arrangements
Just last Tuesday, I was invited to an event in one of the prettiest places in town, luxury floral boutique : Te Amo Floristeria. The event was a wonderful collaboration between Te Amo and lifestyle boutique Moss Manila Home. They taught us the basics of floral arrangement as well as how to create “shelfie” worthy vignettes at home. Guests were free to choose the type and quantity of flowers we wanted — and of course we all grabbed this opportunity to get our favorite fresh flowers to arrange and bring home! Thank you Amy Peng of Te Amo and Cyndi Fernandez of Moss Manila Home for having me. Flowers indeed make the world a lovelier and happier place! 🙂
This event just reminded me of my previous collaboration with Te Amo, held last February when we did something “romantic” for the love month! Take a look at this fun and exciting event that was called : Petals and Poetry, by clicking this link here.
