My trip to New York recently was one of my longest and shall I say, one of my most enjoyable times spent in the city! You can just imagine how my daily schedule was jam-packed : shopping, visiting museums, running in Central Park, trying out new restaurants, meeting up with friends, and watching Broadway plays among other things. Every day, the city offered something for me to do and there was always not enough time to do them all! And even though I try to visit the Big Apple almost every year, I find that there is always something new to discover and explore at every nook and cranny, at any given time, from morning till after midnight! True to its hype and name, New York is really the city that never sleeps!
At the end of every long and busy day, I always looked forward to coming home… to my home in the city, The Warwick Hotel.
When travelling, we all know that the choice of hotel plays a very important and crucial role in the total enjoyment of the trip, as this is the place where we begin our day and rest at night.
So there are a few things I consider when choosing a hotel. It must be centrally located and convenient to most of the places I will go to, it must provide good service (very important especially if I am staying long enough and with my family), and most importantly, it must be a place of total rest (no loud construction noises around please and good housekeeping service to ensure cleanliness and comfort all throughout). It does not have to be very big or luxurious… but of course if you add those in the picture, then the whole stay surely becomes more enjoyable!
The Warwick Hotel in New York City is located right in the middle of the hustle and bustle (West 54th street corner 6th avenue). It is within walking distance to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), Broadway theaters and the world-famous 5th avenue shopping. And yet even though this hotel is conveniently standing right in between the madness of it all, it didn’t feel like I was trapped in such a busy city!
I would come home every night, tired from all the walking — as this is the only place in the world where walking ten blocks is considered the norm! I would always rush back to the comforts of this hotel, to finally be able to put my feet up and take that long, hot shower. In a few minutes, I am refreshed and rejuvenated, as if nothing happened, as if I didn’t spend the whole day out in the sun, squeezing my way through the long lines and big crowds, or what is otherwise known as a regular summer day in New York City!
The Warwick Hotel has 426 rooms and 67 suites, 5 of which are called Signature Suites. I stayed in one of them, the one called Modern Art Suite, which looks like a very well appointed Manhattan apartment. It is called as such as it is filled inside with works of art created by famous and unknown artists alike. The traditional architecture is prominent but is highlighted by all these modern and colorful art pieces. The furniture is also as eclectic as the art, a mix of both traditional and modern pieces.
The highlight of the room though is the beautiful terrace that overlooks the heart of New York City!
This terrace gave us a fantastic view of the city’s skyline, both during the day and at night!
Location, convenience, service and comfort. Plus this amazing view of one of the world’s most dynamic and thrilling cities. Surely, I could not have asked for anything more from a hotel in the city.
I keep on going back and saying that this trip would not have been that fun and enjoyable if not for my sweet stay in The Warwick Hotel, which really became my home away from home, a place that provided me with all that I needed and much more.
