Last September 18, Hermès held its much anticipated Silk Ball in The Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila. Dashing men wearing mysterious masks and lovely ladies donning silk capes welcomed the guests to the venue.
At the entrance, guests were led to a colorful and playful labyrinth made from silk and mirrors.
The ballroom was magically transformed into a whimsical wonderland inspired by the French’s house iconic creation, the carré or the silk scarf.
The event had a mythical theme of “Beauty and the Beast”. It was carefully planned and well-executed with the event design coming from Hermès Paris and the event execution by the talented director, Jackie Aquino.
Food was prepared in a 70-foot baroque-inspired buffet table decorated with silver candelabras and gorgeous flowers by The Peninsula Manila.
The Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila had different vignettes that offered guests playful and animated activities, such as the makeup & headdress parlour and the chameleon booth. There was also a charming little area that gave guests colorful tattoos and fancy masks.
Some of the guests seen at the event were :

Cheryl Tiu and Florence Kho
Mia Borromeo and Ito Curata
Brent Javier and Janna Tee

And yours truly with Hermès Manila country manager, Mario Katigbak. (Sorry, this blurry photo was taken by my iphone!)
There were also graceful dancers who went around the ballroom and playfully danced with their gorgeous silk scarves.
Music didn’t stop as the two most popular DJs in town, Ornussa Cadness and Sanya Smith, also played for the crowd.
It was indeed a beautiful night of fun, music, color and fantasy!
Thank you, Hermès Manila for choosing me to be one of your Silk Ball muses.
Grateful to have been a part of this artistic event created and hosted by one of the world’s leading and most trusted luxury brands.
Truly an honor!
