Here are 5 random things I am loving right now…from my sweet food cravings to my recent fashion finds and then to my latest interesting read, here are just a few of my favorite things!
Nutella and Go
Who doesn’t love Nutella? You gotta admit that before the Speculoos Cookie Butter addicts, there were already the Nutella fanatics. But for the longest time, Nutella only came in big jars that can be quite embarrassing to take out of your small bag and scoop with your finger. So now that the makers of Nutella have come up with this travel-sized pack, we say this is genius! 🙂 (Reminded me so much of a childhood favorite too, Yan Yan!) I first saw this in City Super, a supermarket in Hong Kong and I have been hooked ever since. It’s not exactly a healthy snack, but if you have loved Nutella ever since you were a kid, then you can allow yourself a little of this handy and delicious treat every now and then. Warning : it can be quite addicting.
If you’re looking where to buy this here, I’ve seen a couple of sellers from Instagram – just search Nutella and Go. But I’m hoping that our major supermarket retailers will bring this yummy goodie in soon!
Royce Chocolates and Confections in Unique Flavors
When I went to Sapporo, Japan a couple of weeks ago, I made sure I would be able to visit the place where the famous Japanese chocolates, Royce came from. As a big chocoholic, I knew that Royce was born in Sapporo, a city in Hokkaido which is characterized by a cool climate and clean air (the most suitable environment for making fresh chocolates). But what I didn’t know was that the Royce Chocolate World itself — the temple of all things Royce — was located right inside the huge and modern New Chitose International Airport! So imagine my surprise and delight when as soon I stepped out of the plane, all signs in front of me were pointing to Royce Chocolate World! 🙂
Royce Chocolate World is actually a showcase of all things chocolate — my ultimate piece of heaven on earth! There is a museum displaying the origins and history of chocolates, a live factory showing how Royce chocolates are made from scratch, and a pretty chocolate boutique selling all the Royce products you can ever imagine. Most of which are chocolates and biscuits, but there were also macarons, pralines, candies and a whole lot of other confections in different sizes, shapes and colors — that you can’t possibly buy anywhere else but from there.
Pictured above are a few of my favorite things from Royce Chocolate World : Royce Salted Caramel Macarons, Royce Praline Chocolat Caramels Duo and Royce Nama Chocolates in special flavors like Matcha, Yogurt, Yamazaki Whiskey, Banana and Cafe.
Tod’s Loafers
I’ve always preferred flats over heels, loafers over stilettos. As a mother to 3 young children, I am most comfortable running around in soft and comfy shoes like these. And as you probably know by now, I am a sucker for the pink and blue color combination — which if you notice are my blog’s colors as well! 🙂 So put two and two together, this Tod’s loafers are by far – my most comfortable and favorite pair of shoes right now!
Tod’s is available in Greenbelt 4 and Rustan’s Tower in Shangri-la Plaza Mall.
Gingersnaps Clothes for Girls and Boys
Gingersnaps has just come out with their new Summer Collection of clothes for girls and boys. I will admit that every single time I pass by a Gingersnaps store, I would always end up buying something. They have the cutest store window displays, clothes selection and even packaging — making it hard for Mommies like me to resist the temptation of shopping! Whether it be their clothes, shoes or accessories, every little thing inside their store exudes cuteness and practicality. All 3 of my kids grew up wearing their clothes and truth be told, I also got most of my maternity clothes from there.
What I like most about Gingersnaps is that they have always maintained that fresh, clean look in all their clothes that are both stylish and comfortable for our little ones. This is one local store that you can say has consistent, great quality. Do you know that because of their success here in the Philippines, they have already put up stores in other countries? I’ve seen them in most of my trips around Asia. They now have boutiques in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, UAE and Saudi Arabia! Amazing for a local homegrown children’s and maternity clothes store isn’t it? And I heard more stores outside the region are on its way to being built! Definitely one Filipino brand we can all be proud of! 🙂
Gingersnaps has several branches nationwide. Among them are SM, Landmark, Robinson’s, Rustan’s, Powerplant Mall, Greenbelt 5. Pls check their website here for complete info.
Elle Decoration Magazine – Philippines
I am so glad that Summit Media has brought in the world’s best selling luxury home magazine, Elle Decoration to the country. Now we don’t have to look at other international magazines for amazing interior and decor inspiration. Because Elle Decoration has its own Philippine version, this is more relatable and practical — especially to us living here. The magazine features glamorous houses and exceptional designers accompanied by interesting and well-written articles. They provide useful tips and information that we can use in our own homes or apply in Philippine setting. This month’s issue is by far my favorite one yet and it features our very own internationally acclaimed Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue’s home on the cover.
Elle Decoration Philippines is available in news stands and bookstores.
